According to the observation, number of applicants for the Common Admission Test (CAT) has been decreased however, the number of women applicants enhanced from the previous years.
Convenor of CAT, Rohit Kapoor said that the number of experienced applicants has been also increased. Previously, over all 13 % candidates are those who have 02 or 03 years of working experience whereas in the current year the number of applicant enhanced to 16 %.
However the number of inexperienced applicants been decline to 66% from 68% in the year of 2012. For the recent year, 13 Indian Institute of Management have added 115 seats. Number of Engineering Students have increased with 6 percent and include 70% applicants. Remaining 23 percent applicants comprise Economics, management and science students.
Highest CAT registration has been received from the Maharashtra state followed by Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. CAT 2013 is scheduled to be conducted from 16 October to 11 November 2013.
Soumitra Roy, general manager of test development and test delivery solutions provider Prometric India, said "In 2012, Prometric and the IIMs delivered 191,642 CAT exams. This year we expect similar participation as seen by the registration numbers,"
