Why is the 2026 PSEB Physics Model Paper Different?

Following the latest NEP guidelines, the PSEB has shifted toward a more conceptual evaluation:

  • Shift to Conceptual Testing: Following NEP guidelines, 25% of questions will now be sourced from within the chapter content, rather than just the end-of-chapter exercises.

  • Objective Questions: Section A features 28 objective-type questions (23 MCQs and 5 True/False), accounting for a significant portion of the theory marks.

  • Increased Difficulty: The paper is now balanced as 30% Easy, 40% Average, and 30% Difficult, requiring students to have a strong grip on application-based concepts.

  • Numerical Weightage: Expect approximately 20% (around 15 marks) of the paper to be dedicated to numerical problems, primarily in the 2-mark and 3-mark sections.
