Believe in Yourself. In the long run, it is your strength and inner confidence that will hold you in good stead. Be positive always. Importantly do not give a heed to anybody if he/she tells you that you cannot fulfill your dreams. Instead, always think that I can do this.
Beginners of IAS exam preparation, face a lot of self-doubts. Sometimes some of these doubts are based on reason but on many occasions it is a case of unfounded fear. It is necessary to remove such negative thoughts as soon as you begin to prepare for this exam.
Many candidates, who start preparation with all confidence, fail to meet their own expectations because they hear too many different voices from outside. Failure of friends, colleagues, and known ones whom you think was intelligent, could really de-motivate you.
A series of negative thoughts may start running in your mind about the unpredictability of the Civil Services exam. Thus, gradually you may become the victim of your own fear. And this way both your concentration and output deteriorate.
By thinking about your strengths you can come out of this negative mindset. If you have chosen your Optional subjects based on your own strength, there is no reason for fear of failure just because others fail in the same subjects. You are to take the sole decision with your subjects' choice and the way of your preparation. Different people have different ways of preparation and also they have different reasons for failure. So, you concentrate on your strength and stay positive about your capabilities. In the long run, it is your strength and inner confidence that will hold good in the productive preparation. Nothing else matters.
