Under a MoU signed with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Delhi University would be introducing ‘skill building’ programmes for all its undergraduate programmes, in order to prepare the students for the competitive job market. This initiative would help students getting ready for the real tough world of jobs after their completion of studies in the university.

NSDC would provide systematic training, certificates of competency and placements assistance along with DU’s support. There would be training given in the sectors like Banking, Financial Services and Insurance, IT and IT enabled Services, Health Care, Media and Entertainment, Tourism and Hospitality and the Automotive Industry. These trainings would help students to equip themselves with capabilities which could provide them job opportunities just after their post-graduation degrees. Through the help of NSDC the Delhi University is also guaranteeing 70% placement assistance to the students who would take up the programmes.

Vice Chancellor of DU, Dinesh Singh, after signing the MoU with MD and CEO of NSDC, Dilip Chenoy said, “We connect with the real world in this fashion. A large number of students would benefit from this by coming to terms with the real world by attaining the skills and professional knowledge which would give them jobs or make them job-giving entrepreneurs, grounded in reality.”

The course would be initiated in each college under DU and would be available as add-on, short term, long term and even complementary courses. Some of the colleges would even start the course from the month of January 2015. More details regarding the course would be uploaded soon of the official website of Delhi University.
