The Staff Selection Commission is all set to conduct SSC GD Constable exam from February 20 onwards to recruit candidates for the General Duty Constable post in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR and SSF. The online applications for 26,146 posts began on November 24 and concluded on December 31, 2023. A total of 47,45,501 candidates registered for SSC GD 2024 exam.
In its response to an RTI application submitted by aspirants, SSC has revealed that a total of 47,45,501 candidates have applied for General Duty Constable posts in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), rifleman (GD) in the Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Assam Rifles Recruitment 2024.

Through the official notice, the SSC revealed that the maximum number of applicants, 21,14,972, belong to the Other Backward Castes (OBC) category, while 11,00,424 candidates are from the Scheduled Castes (SC) category, and 6,45,177 candidates are from the unreserved or general category. Similarly, a total of 6,11,474 aspirants from the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category, and 2,67,940 candidates from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category have also filled out the SSC GD application form. SSC has accepted applications for SSC GD recruitment after a gap of one year. In 2022, 54,15,938 aspirants had applied for 50,187 posts advertised. Of these, 2,85,201 candidates including 31,657 female and 2,53,544 male candidates were qualified to appear for the PET exam.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued the SSC GD Constable notification 2024, aiming to fill 26,146 vacancies across various paramilitary forces. The selection process involves four stages: Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test, and Medical Test.
The CBT is scheduled from February 20 to March 12, 2024, with 80 questions carrying 2 marks each. Candidates must complete the exam within a 60-minute duration.
