UPSC IAS exam is every person's dream in India. However, not everyone's life is that easy and smooth that they can focus on their preparations. UPSC CSE is such an exam that requires the constant attention of the candidates on their studies at all times. But in some cases, we find that even if the candidate's life is not smooth they do not go out looking for motivation. They find motivation in their tragedies. Such is the life of IAS officer Pallavi Verma, who cracked the Civil Services exam when her mother was fighting a battle with cancer. Check out her success story below.
IAS Pallavi Verma: UPSC Success Story
Pallavi Verma was born and brought up in Indore from where she did her schooling. She is the first girl in her family who went to a university to study as well. Pallavi belonged to a simple lower-middle-class orthodox family. After completing her graduation in Biotechnology, Pallavi went to Chennai posted as a software tester for an MNC.
In 2013 she realised that she wanted to attempt the Civil Services exam just after 10-11 months of serving in the MNC job that she got. However, it was not as easy as she thought. Pallavi appeared for the exam for the first time in 2013 when she failed. She made the rookie mistake of not attempting to know the paper pattern and studying the depth of this exam that well. Pallavi did not succeed which is why.
In her second and third attempts as well, Pallavi could not crack Civil Services prelims. She succeeded to crack Prelims in her fourth attempt but in vain, as she could not crack the Mains and in her sixth attempt she failed in her UPSC CSE Interview.
Pallavi had failed 6 times in the exam she wanted so desperately to clear. She lost all her hope in her fourth attempt but her parents were so supportive that they did not let her give up.
IN 2020 she came to know her mother was battling cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy. She wanted to go and be there for her but still maintained her patience and gave a final shot for the exam. She succeeded this time. Her name was there on the list with AIR 340 written next to it.
All the time during her preparation, Pallavi Verma did not leave any stone unturned. She cleared the exam with flying colours by correcting her weaknesses with every attempt. IAS Pallavi Verma is the epitome of patience and never giving up attitude.
