Uttarakhand State Eligibility Test (U-SET) 2012 July to be conducted by Kumaun University

Kumaun University, Nainital invites application from eligible candidates for Uttarakhand State Eligibility Test (U-SET) 2012 for recruitment as Assistant Professors/ Lecturers in various Universities/ Degree Colleges/ Institutions of Higher Education in Uttarakhand. The test will be conducted for 23 subjects approved by University Grants Commission falling under Humanities, Social Sciences and Sciences at 6 Centres in the State.

Eligibility Criteria for Uttarakhand State Eligibility Test (U-SET) 2012

Educational Qualification

• Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST/ PH/ VH) (without rounding off) in Master's Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognised are eligible for this Test
• Final year candidates can also apply
• The PhD degree holders whose Master's level examination had been completed shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (ie, from 55% to 50%) for appearing in U-SET
• Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. In case the subject of a candidate is not included in the list of SET subjects, the candidate may appear in UGC-NET / UGC-CSIR NET which is held twice a year

Selection procedure for Uttarakhand State Eligibility Test (U-SET) 2012: The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will be held in two separate sessions as under:

The candidates are required to obtain minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III as given below:

There will be no negative marking. Only such candidates who obtain the minimum required marks in each Paper, separately, as mentioned above, will be considered for final preparation of result.

Note: The syllabus of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III will be the same as UGC-CSIR and UGC-NET. The candidates will be allowed to carry a carbon printout of the OMR Response Sheets with them on conclusion of examinations.

How to Apply for Uttarakhand State Eligibility Test (U-SET) 2012: The Application along with OMR sheet and DD must be sent by registered post/ speed post only to The Member Secretary U-SET, Kumaun University, Nainital- 263 001, Uttarakhand.

Application Fee: The application fees to be paid by SC/ ST/ PH/ VH candidate is Rs 500, for OBC candidate is Rs 700 and for General candidate is Rs 900.

The application fee should be paid through Demand Draft only, in favour of Finance officer Kumaun University, payable at Nainital of any Nationalise Bank according their category.
