VITEEE Application forms 2016 to be available from November 27

Being one of the top Engineering Institutes in India, VIT conducts its own entrance examination VITEEE (Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination) for admission to engineering programmes hosted at its campuses in Chennai and Vellore. The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has now announced that it will make the VITEEE 2016 application forms available for all students from November 27 onwards. Aspirants seeking admissions to VIT will have to fill the VITEEE 2016 Application form via either online or offline mode in prescribed format before the deadline.

According to an earlier notification issued by VIT, the entrance exam is scheduled to be held from April 6, 2016 to April 17, 2016.

To help you familiarise with the VITEEE 2016 Application procedure, modes, eligibility and application fees; we have complied all the necessary information below.

VITEEE 2016 Application Form Slots

Being an internationally recognized university, VITEE also invites application from international students. To help streamline the application process, it has been divided into two different slots i.e. first slot where online application of international students is processed and second slot is designated for application of Indian students. Generally, forms for foreign aspirants are made available before the national candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible to apply for VITEEE 2016, both foreign and Indian aspirants need to fulfil some basic eligibility criteria.

• Any candidate who has secured 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying exam (+2) is eligible to apply for VITEEE 2016.
• For reserved category, the aggregate marks limit in PCM / PCB has been lowered to 50%.
• Candidate willing to apply for VITEEE 2016 must be born on or after 1st July 1994.

Modes of Application

To ease the application process and enable maximum number student to apply for the VITEEE 2016, the institute offers applications in online as well as offline modes. VIT Online application can be availed from the official website of the institute, however for offline application, candidates can purchase the form and information bulletin from the designated sales outlets.

Documents required to fill VITEEE 2016 Application Form

In order to fill the VITEEE 2016 Application form, candidates should keep the following documents ready before commencing the online or offline application process.

• Class X and XII mark sheets
• Scanned copy of a recent photograph
• Scanned copy of a recent signature
• Caste, community or disability certificates (if necessary)
• Debit/Credit Card, Net banking details or DD details for payment of application fees
• Valid email id and phone number

Online Application Procedure

To apply for VITEEE 2016 via the online mode, candidates can follow the below mentioned steps:

• Visit the official website for VITEEE 2016
• Register yourself by entering the necessary personal details and get a Login and Password
• Check your registered email account for a verification mail sent by the VIT
• Login to VIT website with help of your Login and Password
• Fill in all the necessary details in the VITEEE 2016 application form
• Upload a scanned copy of a recent passport size photograph (50kb to 100kb) in JPEG format. The photograph must also include name of the candidate and the date on which photograph was clicked.
• Upload a scanned copy of your signature on white paper (20 kb to 50 kb) in JPEG format
• Verify and submit the application form
• Pay the application fees via Net Banking or Debit/Credit card mode
• Download the completed application form for future reference

Offline Application Procedure

Candidates willing to apply for VITEEE 2016 via offline mode can get the forms via any of the methods mentioned below:

• Purchase form from VIT University sales counter, designated post offices or local form selling centres.
• Candidates can also send a written application with a demand draft of the amount of fees mentioned in the information bulletin to VIT University asking them to send the application form and information bulletin via post.
• Candidates can download the application form from the official website. Forms will have to be sent back to VIT university with a demand draft of the amount of fees mentioned in the information bulletin

Things to consider before filling the VITEEE 2016 application form

• The form is to be filled in block/capital letters using wither black or blue ink
• The circles have to be shaded using a pencil
• All information filled in the form has to be authentic and in corroboration with your official personal or academic documents
• Photograph and signature must be placed in prescribed format in the correct space on the form
• Do not stick or staple any other documents along with the application form

After filling the VITEEE 2016 form, candidate must send the form back to university as per the address given in the information bulletin through speed post or courier service. 

Checking Application Status

It is very important to receive acknowledgement that your application form has been received and processed by the university for VITEEE 2016. All candidates will receive an acknowledgement SMS on the registered phone number after 25 days of submission of the application form. Alternatively, candidates can also check the status of their application on the official application status check portal of the university. If the application status remains unsuccessful even after the payment of fees; candidates are advised to inform the university by writing an email to ugadmission@vit.ac.in.
