Mahindra Group Chairman Anand G Mahindra on 29 May 2014 became the first Indian to receive the prestigious Harvard Medal.

Mahindra Group Chairman Anand G Mahindra on 29 May 2014 became the first Indian to receive the prestigious Harvard Medal. The award was presented during the Harvard's 363rd Commencement at the annual meeting of the Harvard Alumni Association.

He was chosen for this award for his dedication, generosity and service to the university.

Anand Mahindra is an alumnus of Harvard University. He did his graduation from Harvard in 1977.

Mahindra is also a founding member of the university's South Asia Institute (SAI), the HBS India Research Center, and the SAI field office in Mumbai, India. He is also a long-time member of the Asia Center Advisory Committee.
