Angelo Mathews, the Sri Lanka Test and ODI captain was named as the captain of the Pune Warriors India for Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 6.

Angelo MathewsAngelo Mathews, the Sri Lanka Test and ODI captain was named as the captain of the Pune Warriors India for Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 6 which will begin from 3 April 2013.

The Head Coach of Pune Warriors will be Allan Donald and Rob Walters will be the assistant coach.
 
Important Facts

• Angelo Mathews took over the captaincy of Pune Warriors from Sourav Ganguly. Ganguly will not be a part of IPL 6.
• He became the fourth captain who would lead the Pune Warriors. In its inaugural season in 2011, Yuvraj Singh was the Captain of the team. In 2012, Sourav Ganguly and Steven Smith shared captaincy of the team.
• Angelo Mathews will be one among other three Sri Lankans who will be the captains of IPL teams in 2013. Mahela Jayawardene will lead Delhi Daredevils while Kumar Sangakkara will be the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

About Angelo Mathews

• Angelo Mathews is a Sri Lankan all-rounder cricketer, who made his debut in the international cricket in a One Day International match against Zimbabwe in November 2008.
• In 31 test matches Mathews has scored 1668 runs since making his debut in 2009 and recorded his first and only test century against Australia.
