Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2010 for the First Time

Bal Sahitya Puraskar given out for the first time in 2010.

The Bal Sahitya Puraskar (children's literary award) was given to 24 writers on the occasion of Children's Day on 14 November 2010. The Sahitya Academy instituted the awards in August 2010 for the first time since its inception. The award recognised the authors for their contribution to children's literature in Indian languages. The winners were given cash prize of Rs 50000, citations and academy symbols. The list of the winners is as follows-

Razi(Kashmiri), Prakash S. Pariekar (Konkani), Tara Nand Viyogee (Maithili), Sippi Pallippuram (Malayalam), Anil Awachat(Marathi), Naina Singh Yonzan(Nepali), Punyaprabha Devi (Oriya), Jasbir Bhullar (Punjabi), Damyanti Jadawat Chanchal (Rajasthani), Bouyha Biswanath Tudu (Santhali), Khiman U.Mulani (Sindhi), Ma. Kamalavelan(Tamil), Kaluvakolanu Sadananda(Telegu) and Ghulam Haider(Urdu), Ngathem Ningol Kongbam Ongbi Ibeyaimas (Manipuri), Padma Shastri (Sanskrit).
