Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ford Motor Co Alan Mulally announced to retire on 1 July 2014. The announcement came on 1 May 2014.
Current Chief Operating Officer of Ford motor Co Mark Fields will take over the charge as CEO from 1 July 2014.
Alan Mullay had joined the company in 2006. Earlier, he worked with Boeing Co. Alan Mulally is credited with transforming the No. 2 U.S. automaker from a money-loser to a company that expects to realize a pretax profit of up to 8 billion US dollar in 2014.
