1. (a) Prince Andrew 

Prince Andrew, Duke of York, the third child and second son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, has been stripped of all his military and royal titles. The Royal family member, who was the ninth in line of succession to the British throne has been forced to relinquish all his ties with royal titles after being involved in a sexual abuse scandal.

Sri Lanka tops the ICC World Test Championship points table 2021-23 with 24 points, followed by Australia at the second and Pakistan at the fourth place. India was ranked at the 5th position earlier but has been pushed one spot below after its 2-1 series defeat against South Africa.

ICC World Test Championship Points Table 2021-2023: World Test Championship: India has slipped to the 5th spot on the ICC World Test Championship points table 2021-23 after a 7-wicket defeat against South Africa on January 14, 2022. South Africa is now ranked at the 4th spot with 66.66 percentage of points, while India has 49.07 percentage of points. 

4.(a) January 15

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with startups on January 15, 2022. The Prime Minister will hold the interaction through video conferencing at 10:30 am. Startups from various sectors will participate in the interaction including Agriculture, space, health, security, fintech, enterprise systems and environment.

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra informed on January 13, 2022 that the state government will bring a law to regulate online games after an 11-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself due to his addiction to an online game

6. (b) The Philippines 

The Philippines has accepted the proposal of the Indian BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited worth USD 375 million to supply shore-based anti-ship missile systems for the Indian Navy. The move will prove to be a major success for the Indian Government’s plans to increase defence exports.

7. (a) NDTV

Kamal Khan, veteran NDTV Journalist and a recipient of the Ramnath Goenka Award passed away on January 14, 2022, at the age of 61 after suffering a heart attack. Kamal Khan is survived by his wife, Ruchi, and their son, Aman.
