Jeremiah Manele has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of Solomon Islands located in the South Pacific. Jeremiah Manele got 31 votes in the voting process involving 49 MPs.

Zimbabwe has launched a new currency called ZiG (short for Zimbabwe Gold) amid the country's long-running currency crisis. It has been launched in electronic form. This is the sixth time since 2009 that a new currency has been launched in the country. Zimbabwe is a South African country, its capital is Harare.

NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), the international arm of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has signed an agreement with the Bank of Namibia (BoN) to develop a UPI-like instant payment system. This agreement has been made to promote digital payments in Namibia.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has appointed legendary former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh as the brand ambassador of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. It is noteworthy that the T20 World Cup will be organized under the joint hosting of West Indies and USA.
