Indian Navy's P-8I aircraft has landed at Air Base 125 Istres-Le Tube in France as part of its first deployment to Europe to participate in the 22nd edition of Exercise Varuna with the French Navy. The bilateral naval exercise between the Indian and French Navies was started in 1993.

Sharad Kumar and Mariyappan Thangavelu won silver and bronze medals in the men's high jump T63 event on September 3. India has performed its best in a single edition of the Paralympic Games so far by winning 20 medals with three gold, seven silver and 10 bronze.

Recently, the Uttar Pradesh government appointed BJP leader Aparna Yadav as the Vice President of the Uttar Pradesh Women's Commission.
