With participation in at least 12 sports, including para-shooting, para-badminton, and taekwondo, India is scheduled to begin their Paralympic campaign on August 29. India finished their Olympic campaign in Paris on August 11th, with a fairly disappointing haul of only six medals—five bronze and one silver—from the games.
With a record 19 medals won in Tokyo, the aspirations for the Paralympic contingent are high. With 84 para athletes fighting for medals in Paris, there is a chance of India winning as many as 55 medals this time around.
Paralympics 2024: Number of Countries Participating
A total of 167 nations are scheduled to take part in the Paris Paralympics 2024. This includes athletes from Russia and Belarus, competing under the banner Neutral Paralympic Athletes, and the Refugee Paralympic Team.
Paralympics 2024: How Many Indian Athletes Are Participating?
India is sending its largest-ever team to the Paralympics this time, with 84 athletes, compared to 54 who went to the Tokyo Games.
