Goa to impose Entry Tax on Vehicles registered outside the State

The Goa Government decided to impose entry tax on vehicles registered outside the state and entering Goa.

The Goa Government decided to impose entry tax on vehicles registered outside the state and entering Goa from outside. It will be effective from 15 April 2013. As per the notification issued by the government, private two wheelers and Government and VIP vehicles will however be exempted from entry tax.

The Government is expected to earn 50 crore rupees annually with the implementation of this new tax. Besides Goa, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh also imposes entry tax on vehicles registered outside the states.
