Haryana government on 22 February 2012 announced to increase minimum wages of skilled and unskilled labourers. The state government decided to increase minimum wages of unskilled labourers to Rupees 186 a day while the wages for unskilled labourer was raised to Rupees 211.42 a day.

Haryana, one of the most developed states of India, accounts for about 7.5 lakh labourers working in about 11500 large and small factories in the state.

With the increment in the amount of daily wages unskilled labourers would now get minimum wage of Rs 4,847.17 a month or Rs 186.42 per day, semi-skilled (A) Rs 4,977.17 a month and Rs 191.42 per day, semi-skilled (B) Rs 5,107.17 per month and Rs 196.42 per day. Skilled labourers (A) would get minimum wage of Rs 5,237.17 a month and Rs 201.42 a day and skilled (B) would get Rs 5,367.17 a month and Rs 206.42 per day. The highly skilled worker would get minimum wage of Rs 5,497.17 a month and Rs 211.42/day
