IIT alumnus in top ten list of US startup Founders

IIT alumnus stood tenth place among the leading founders of startups in the US, the list prepared by the PE/VC database firm Pitch Book.

Among the top 10 study places in the world the IIT’s which produced founders who raised the first round of Venture Capital (VC) since 2010.

IIT alumnus is the only non-US university in the list. Stanford University topped list with190 alumni and followed by University of California, Berkeley with 160 and university of Pennsylvania with 131. The IIT’s accounted for 77 alumni raising venture capital money.

The country’s boom in the IT industry over the last couple of decades was the reason behind Indians schools are producing innovative thinker to fuel that country’s and the world’s which is rapidly growing  and increasingly technology-reliant economy said Pitch Book.

Flip kart founder Sachin bansal-an IIT Delhi alumnus, Rajiv Srivatsa –an IIT Madras, who co-founded Urban Ladder, an e-shopping for furniture and IIT–Madras alumnus Gururaj Deshpande’s networking product company Sycamore Networks are among the leading founders of  startups in the US.
