The central government has lifted the President’s Rule in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday after the state's assembly elections had been completed and the results announced. This move has opened the doors for the formation of a democratically chosen government after a hiatus of six years. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued the official notification regarding the same.
Omar Abdullah, vice-president of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, recently met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar to stake a claim to form the new government.
President Rule Revoked in J&K
The notification signed by President Draupadi Murmu said, "In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 73 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019 (34 of 2019) read with Articles 239 and 239A of the Constitution of India, the order dated the 31st October, 2019 in relation to the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir shall stand revoked immediately before the appointment of the chief minister under Section 54 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019,"
Which Party will Form J&K Government?
The National Conference-Congress alliance has won the recently held Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections and will now form the government.
Omar Abdullah, the vice-president of the National Conference, has been chosen as the leader of the alliance and will be the next Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

The new Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir will be National Conference (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah. He has been elected the leader of the alliance after the victory of the National Conference-Congress alliance in the recently held assembly elections.

Jammu and Kashmir New Government
A new government is expected to be formed in Jammu and Kashmir soon after President's rule is lifted. Omar Abdullah, the vice-president of the National Conference (NC), has already met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and expressed his intention to form the government.
Once Omar Abdullah is officially sworn in as the Chief Minister, the new government will be in place. This process is usually completed quickly, so the government is expected to be formed in the next few days.
