Javed Ahmed appointed as Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh

He succeeds Jagmohan Yadav, who retired from the post on 31 December 2015.

Javed Ahmed was on 1 January 2016 appointed as Director General of Police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh by the state government. He succeeds Jagmohan Yadav, who retired from the post on 31 December 2015.

Ahmed will serve the post till 2020, the year of his retirement.

About Javed Ahmed

• Ahmed is a 1984 batch Indian Police Service officer.
• Prior to this appointment, he was serving as the Director General (Railways).
• He had earlier served as the joint director of the Central Bureau of Investigation during Central Deputation.
