Jharkhand Government to provide tablets to all girls student of KGBV

The announcement was made during the two days Baal Samagam festival held at Morhabadi Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand.

Jharkhand Government on 5 February 2015 decided to provide tablets to all girls student studying in class 9, 10, 11 and 12 in government Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV).

The announcement was made during the two days Baal Samagam festival held at Morhabadi Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand. It is a children festival.

The festival is the first of its kind in the state and involved nearly 50 lakhs students of government schools. In the festival, competitions were held in different categories all over the state.

About Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya

The Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya scheme was introduced by the Union Government in August 2004.

The scheme was introduced for setting up to 1180 residential schools with boarding facilities at elementary level for girls belonging predominantly to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, minority communities and families below the poverty line in Educationally Backward Blocks.
