Kamayani Express & Mumbai-Jabalpur Janata Express derailed over Machak River of MP
The twin-train derailment occurred after base material on the tracks got washed away in heavy rain.

Two trains, Kamayani Express and Mumbai-Jabalpur Janata Express, derailed while crossing a swollen Machak river in Harda District of Madhya Pradesh (MP) on 4 August 2015. The twin-train derailment claimed lives of at least 20 people and injured over 60.
According to West Central Railway PRO Piyush Mathur, seven coaches of Kamayani Express and three coaches and Engine of Janata Express derailed after base material on the tracks got washed away in heavy rain. The mishap took place at 11.30 PM.
Railway has ordered an inquiry into the incident. Commissioner Railway Safety (Central Zone) will conduct the probe. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu also announced an ex-gratia payment of two lakh rupees each to the kins of the dead.
