Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on August 19, 2020, announced that the state government has decided to distribute ration at minimum price to the non-ration holders in the state from September 1 amid the pandemic.
In a virtual conference, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh informed that every member of a family who is poor but does not have a ration card will get salt, wheat, and rice for Rs. 1 and Rs. 1.5 per litre of Kerosene per family, from September 1, 2020.

The announced plan by the Madhya Pradesh government will benefit around 37 lakh people, who will be able to get ration at a minimum price from September 1, 2020.
Chief Minister of the state explained that with this plan, 10 kgs of food grain will be distributed, meaning if there are five members in the family then the family will be getting 50 kgs of the ration. He further added that an additional 5 kgs of food grain for Rs. 1 will also be given until November 2020.
The plan for the distribution of ration to the non-ration cardholders at a minimum price has been announced under the National Food Security Act. The Press Conference was organized for the discussion of the upcoming government plan with the public distribution system beneficiaries.
