New Delhi: Additional central assistance under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) of Rs 1554.99 crore has been granted by a committee led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah for five states that experienced floods, flash floods, landslides, and cyclonic storms in 2024.
Additional Disaster Fund for Flooding states
Shah stated in a post on X that the Modi administration is steadfast in its support of those affected by the calamity. An additional Rs 1554.99 crore in federal assistance to Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha, Telangana, and Tripura under the NDR fund was authorized by the MHA today. This is on top of the Rs. 18,322.80 crore that the Center has already disbursed to 27 states through the SDR fund.
State-wise Allocation of Emergency Fund
The government has approved a total of ₹1,554.99 crore for various states. Below is the state-wise distribution of funds:

Additional Aid Beyond SDRF Allocations
The high-level committee authorized Rs 1554.99 crore in central aid from the NDRF to five states, contingent on a 50% adjustment of the year-opening balance in the SDRF.
This extra support goes beyond the money that the Center has previously made available to the states through the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).

Breakdown of Disaster Relief Funds for 2024-25
For the fiscal year 2024-25, the Centre has allocated:
- ₹18,322.80 crore to 27 states through the SDRF
- ₹4,808.30 crore to 18 states through the NDRF
- ₹2,208.55 crore to 14 states through the State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF)
- ₹719.72 crore to eight states through the National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF)
According to the statement, the Centre sent Inter-Ministerial Central Teams (IMCTs) to these states right away following the disasters, without waiting for official memorandums.
