MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore to win Indian Premier League (IPL) season 4 title. The comprehensive 58-run victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was attained at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on 28 May 2011.


A mammoth total of 205 was put on the board by Chennai batsmen and the process of victory was further made easy by a three-wicket spell (3/16) from R Ashwin. The 159-run opening partnership between 'Man of the Match' Murali Vijay (95) and Michael Hussey (63) had laid the grounds for the Chennai victory.


Chennai bowlers then restricted Bangalore to a paltry 147/8.


IPL season 4 was played from 8 April 2011 to 28 May 2011. Two new teams-Pune Warriors and Kochi Tuskers played in the fourth season of the IPL. A new trophy was designed for IPL 4 in view of 2 new teams in the fray. It has now been changed to a big cup instead of the map of India.
