According to NASA sceintists, in the first week of May 2011, a giant asteroid named YU55 is heading close to the earth. If it hits the earth, it would have an impact equivalent to 65000 atom bombs. It will pass by a distance of just 201000 miles. It is the largest object ever to come so close to the Earth.
NASA officially termed YU55 as a Potentially Hazardous Object. However, it stated that there is no danger of collision. YU55 orbits the Sun every 14 years and it was first noticed in April 2010 by the astronomers.
