Pranab Mukherjee conferred with Rotary Movements Award of Honour

Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India was conferred with the highest recognition of Rotary Movements Award of Honour on 11 February 2014. The award was presented to Mukherjee by Ron Burton, the President of Rotary International.

Mukerjee was awarded for his leadership that he has provided for eradication of polio in India. While presenting the honuor, Burton greeted to Mukherjee on behalf of 1.2 million Rotarians of the world.

Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.
