Registration for the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana, which will give women residents Rs 1,000 a month in support, opened today. According to a report published on Sunday by the Press Trust of India, the Delhi government had declared in its 2024–25 budget that all women over the age of 18 will receive Rs 1,000 each month.

Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, has stated that if his party wins the assembly elections in February of next year, the sum under the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana will be raised to Rs 2,100.

What is Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana?

The Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana, which was introduced by the AAP government this month, guaranteed qualified women over the age of 18 a monthly financial aid of Rs 1,000, with the possibility of an eventual rise to Rs 2,100. However, the funds would be disbursed following the election.

Who will Benefit from this Scheme?

All qualified women voters in Delhi would receive the perks, and the recipients will have to present their voter identification cards, Kejriwal stated.

Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana Eligibility Criteria

The following are the requirements to be eligible for the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana:

  • A woman must be at least eighteen years old on December 12, 2024, the date the initiative is announced, and have a voter ID with a Delhi address.
  • In other words, the majority of this scheme's participants are women between the ages of 18 and 60.

Who Will Not Receive the Benefit?

The Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana would be available to all women who are registered voters and who reside in Delhi as of December 12, 2024, per the cabinet's resolution. However, the monthly financial help is not available to women belonging to certain categories.

  • Among them are permanent government workers, both past and present.
  • Women who paid income tax during the preceding assessment cycle and are or were MPs, MLAs, or council members are likewise excluded.
  • Furthermore, the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana does not provide benefits to women who are currently receiving pensions from Delhi government programs, such as old-age, widow, or disability pensions.

The scheme is viewed as AAP's strategy for the upcoming Delhi elections, although the Election Commission of India has not yet announced the dates.
