Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on 23 June 2010 passed a resolution on the Pune Metro. Despite protests against the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)'s Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the Metro, 65% votes were cast in favour of the proposal, thereby giving a green signal to the Pune Metro. The PMC would fund 10 per cent of the total cost and the rest would be funded by the State and Central government and other sources. The metro corridor would be 14.925 km in length. All the buildings along the metro corridor would be allowed 4 FSI (Floor Space Index).
