Saudi Arabia: No Extension of Grace Period for Foreigners staying Illegally in the Country
Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia has announced a zero tolerance policy for foreigners residing in the country illegally over grace period granted to them.
The Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia on 6 May 2013 announced that there would be no extension over the three month grace for foreigners staying in the country illegally. The Interior Ministry has urged people to take advantage of the grace period provided to them for regularization of their situation.
The country will adopt a zero tolerance policy for people who fail to regularize their situation and stay in the country illegally after the completion of the grace period. The government also appealed to the emigrants staying illegally in the country to contact with the authorities and rectify their status of being in the country following its rules and regulations.
Earlier, Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz the King of Saudi issued a three month grace period for the foreigners staying illegally in the country to correct their residency status in the country or exit the nation after following due procedures.
