The Union Government has launched the 4th round of the regional connectivity scheme “UDAN 4.0”.
The Central Government is presently carrying out the strategic disinvestment of 33 Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) by selling its majority stake and transferring the management control to the strategic investor. Some of these CPSEs are Air India, BPCL, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Shipping Corporation, Pawan Hans and others.
The Union Government has launched the 4th round of the regional connectivity scheme “UDAN 4.0”. UDAN stands for ‘Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik’. The scheme aims to boost air connectivity to the remote areas of India. The key focus areas of the UDAN 4.0 will be the Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Northeast, hilly states and islands.
The Indian Navy Day is celebrated every year on December 4 to commemorate the Operation Trident that was launched by India in retaliation to Pakistan’s attack on Indian airspace and border area. The Navy Day was established in 1612 to salute the bravery of the Indian Navy.
Indian Parliament has passed the Special Protection Group (Amendment) Bill, 2019 that was passed in the Rajya Sabha on December 3, 2019. The Bill seeks to provide security to the Prime Minister and members of his family who reside with him at the Prime Minister’s house. The Bill also provides security to former prime ministers and their immediate families. The bill, if comes into force, will amend the Special Protections Group Act of 1988.
India and Sweden have signed three MoUs for cooperation in the fields of innovation & research, polar science and maritime. The MoUs were signed during the visit of King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia to India. The Swedish King held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and held discussions to strengthen bilateral relations between both the countries. Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf is on a five-day visit to India.
