Undetonated World War II bombs found in Germany, thousands evacuated

Thousands had to be evacuated in Germany after the discovery of five undetonated bombs that were dropped during the Second World War.

More than 50,000 people were evacuated from the German city of Hanover, after the discovery of multiple unexploded World War II bombs.

While two of the suspected bombs were found from a construction site in the Vahrenwald district, three more were found from another suspected site near the location.

Nearly 75 years after the end of Second World War, the discovery of unexploded bombs in Germany is not a rare sight, as they have been found in cities across the continent. Millions of bombs were dropped during the course of the war, many of which many did not go off and still stay buried around Germany.

These undetonated bombs will only become more dangerous with time because of the breaking down of its components.
