The Union Cabinet on 16 November 2017 approved deputation of Group ‘A’ tech officers of Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and other Ministries to Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL).
As per the Cabinet approval, TCIL can now fill the posts for a further period of three years from the date of approval as per the Department of Public Enterprise (DPE) guidelines. Earlier, the Cabinet allowed deputation of Group A officers till September 2016.
The deputation will be subjected to a maximum of 10 per cent of the total number of below board level posts in TCIL with exemption from the rule of immediate absorption.
The Cabinet also approved a proposal that in future the issue of exemption of below Board Level Posts in TCIL will now be dealt in terms of an official memorandum dated 28 December 2005 so that such proposal is not required to be brought before the Cabinet.
The move is aimed at addressing manpower crunch at Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd for executing ongoing as well as expected projects. The company provides consultancy and turnkey project execution services in Telecom, IT and Civil Infrastructure sectors.
