The state government issued an order to raise the age limit from 35 years to 40 years to fill around 70000 posts of primary school teachers lying vacant.

 For BTC selection in 2007 and 2008 the age limit of 40 years was made mandatory. The B.Ed degree holders demanded to increase the maximum age limit for the appointment of primary school teachers on the basis of that.
