India Current Affairs 2011. Uttar Pradesh government announced the creation of three more districts namely Prabuddhanagar, Panchsheel Nagar and Bhimnagar

Uttar Pradesh government on 28 September 2011 announced the creation of three more districts namely Prabuddhanagar, Panchsheel Nagar and Bhimnagar. With these new districts, the total number of districts has gone up to 75 in the state.


Prabuddhanagar comprises Muzaffarnagar’s Shamli and Kairana tehsils and Panchsheel Nagar consists of Ghaziabad’s Hapur, Garhmukteshwar and Dhaulana tehsils. Shamli will be its headquarters. Its population is 12 lakh, 91 thousand 5 hundred and 41.  


Bimnagar, carved out of Moradabad district includes Sambhal, Chandausi and Gunnaur tehsils.  The population of newly created Bimnagar would be 22 lakhs, 12 thousand and 7 hundred sixty.


Panchsheel nagar consists of Ghaziabad’s Hapur, Garhmukteshwar and Dhaulana tehsils. Hapur will be the headquarters of Panchsheel nagar. The population of Panchsheel Nagar will be 14 lakh, 22 thousand and 43.
Besides, the state government also announced its decision to upgrade Dhaulana as a new tehsil.
