The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, on 9 March 2011 announced 2-year child care leave for women employees of the state government. The Chief Minister also announced to construct a girls hostel in each Sub Division situated in the remote areas of the state with the objective to promote girls education. He also made an announcement to provide a 24-hour toll free service for medical consultation.
