FIFA’s vice-president Jack Warner was forced out of the executive of FIFA, the Zurich-based governing body of world football. Jack Warner who was the central figure in recent bribery allegations resigned from his post on 20 June 2011.
Warner, the influential head of the Caribbean, North and Central American Federation (CONCACAF), was suspended in May 2011 over claims that he conspired with Asian football chief Mohamed bin Hammam to buy votes in an attempt to topple FIFA supremo Sepp Blatter in the presidential election.
Warner is a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago and was under investigation for corruption, in one of a number of high-profile scandals to hit FIFA in quick succession.
