Yohann Diniz broke 50km Walk World Record at the European Athletics Championship

Yohann Diniz of France broke the 50-km Walk World Record at the European Athletics Championship held in Zurich, Switzerland. He broke the record with a timing of 3 Hours 32 Minutes and 33 Seconds.

With the victory, Diniz became the first man to win three successive European titles over the distance. Earlier he won the European titles in 2006 and 2010.

The previous record of 3:34:14 was set by Russia`s Denis Nizhegorodov in Cheboksary in May 2008.

Matej Toth of Slovakia won the Silver medal and Russian Ivan Noskov won the Bronze medal.
