Congress Second Candidate List 2024: The Congress, one of India's oldest and most prominent political parties, has unveiled its second list of candidates for the highly anticipated 2024 general elections. With the electoral battlefield heating up across the nation, the announcement of this candidate list marks a significant step for the Congress Party as it endeavours to reclaim political ground and redefine its position in the country's political landscape.
This list was released on Tuesday and consists of candidates across four states. The list was announced by K.C. Venugopal and he states: “So far, we have already announced our first list of candidates. Today, we are going to announce the second list of candidates. Yesterday, CEC met and cleared the list of 43 names in respect of states like Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan. From these 4 states, we are releasing 43 names today”
Gaurav Gogoi who is the Deputy Leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha, is set to contest for the constituency of Jorhat situated in Assam. Moreover, Nakul Nath, the son of Kamal Nath, will once again run for office from Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh. Another prominent candidate, Vaibhav Gehlot, son of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, will also contest from Jalore.
On March 8, 2024, the Congress party unveiled its initial list of candidates spanning eight states and one Union Territory in preparation for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Notably, former party president Rahul Gandhi has been nominated once again to contest from Wayanad in Kerala.
