TMC Candidate List 2024: On Sunday, the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) revealed its list of candidates for the 42 Parliamentary Constituencies in West Bengal. The lineup includes new entrants like former cricketers Yusuf Pathan and Kirti Azad, while at least eight sitting MPs have been omitted. Notably, the party has renominated 16 incumbent MPs and has featured 12 women candidates.
Actor Shatrughan Sinha has once again received the nomination for the Asansol seat. In the Basirhat constituency, former MP Haji Nurul Islam has been chosen to replace actor Nusrat Jahan, and this area includes the troubled Sandeshkhali village.
Despite the 'age versus youth' controversy, standing MPs Sougata Roy and Sudip Bandopahdyay have been granted tickets, with Roy contesting from Dumdum and Bandopahdyay from the Kolkata Uttar seat. Confirming the decision in late February, the TMC declared that it would contest the West Bengal polls independently.
