Google's latest Doodle celebrates the 2024 ICC Women's T20 Cricket World Cup, marking the tournament's ninth edition since its inception in 2009. Hosted in the United Arab Emirates, this year's competition features ten teams divided into two groups, with matches commencing on October 3, 2024.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, culminating in a championship showdown. This event showcases the talents of the world's best female cricketers, with reigning champions Australia aiming for their seventh title, while Scotland debuted in the tournament.

The ICC Women's T20 World Cup was relocated from Bangladesh to the UAE due to the original host country's political unrest and safety concerns.

The design of the Google Doodle celebrating the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup draws inspiration from the vibrant atmosphere of women's cricket. The Doodle features a colourful depiction of a cricket match, showcasing three women cricketers: one batting, another catching a ball, and a third celebrating a wicket.

This artistic representation highlights the energy and excitement of the tournament, which is being hosted in the United Arab Emirates. Additionally, the Doodle creatively incorporates a cricket ball into the letter "O" in "Google," symbolising the sport's significance in this event.
