Hazarat Muhammad, Islamic prophet of God was born in Mecca (a city in Saudi Arabia) in 570-571 AD. By the age of six he lost both of his parents and was raised by his uncle.  At the age of 25, he married Khadijah bint Khuwaylid who became the first Muslim to embrace Islam after Muhammad.

At the age of 40, he claimed to receive the revelation from God and started preaching that God is one. He said that one should completely surrender himself to God and declared himself as the prophet and messenger of the God. Due to prophet’s preaching, some of Mecca tribes became his harsh enemies and the former was forced to migrate to Madina, an event which is called Hijra.

The Islamic calendar is called Hijri calendar, derived from the word Hijra. The number of prophet’s followers started increasing and in 630 AD he came back to Mecca to establish his eminence.

Prophet Muhammad died in 632 AD when Islam was in its propagating stage.
