Allahabad University Semester Exams 2020: As per the latest update, Allahabad University has decided to resume the AU UG / PG Exams 2020 from 17th August 2020. The decision was taken at the varsity’s examination committee meeting held on Monday – 16th June 2020. Earlier in March 2020, the on-going semester exams for undergraduate and postgraduate students were postponed after the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country. However, at that time, AU Controller of Exams Prof. R K Singh has rejected the demand of promotion and said that all students will have to earn their promotion to next grade through exams, which will be held at a later date. In line with this, the university has now decided the examination dates for AU Semester Exam 2020 which are slated to start on 17^th August 2020.

AU UG / PG Semester Exam 2020 – Time and Format

As reported earlier, the examination committee of Allahabad University held a review meeting on 15^th June to deliberate on the AU PG / UG Final Year Semester Exam 2020 Date. In line with this, the committee came to a consensus about holding the exams for final year students from 17^th August 2020 onwards. In the meeting it was also decided that the exam duration for Final Year Semester Exam would be of 2 hours for all the students. During this time, students will have to answer four questions as part of the examination paper. To ensure timely completion of exams, the varsity plans to conduct exams in three shifts and also on weekends i.e. Saturday and Sunday. To ensure complete safety of students, all exam centres and facilities will be sanitized before every paper in line with the guidelines and COVID-19 precautions proposed by government authorities.

Hostels to be Opened for Students from 1^st Week of August

The examination committee meeting of Allahabad University was chaired by Officiating Vice Chancellor RR Tewari and was attended by Controller of Exams along with Deans from all the Departments. In the meeting, VC and other members also agreed to re-open hostels for students from 1^st week of August 2020 to allow out-station students to appear for the exam. AU and Colleges affiliated with it will reopen hostels from 7^th August 2020.
