Bihar School Timings Revised: Bihar Education Department has issued a notification revising school timings. As per the notification issued, classes will be conducted from 9:30 am to 4 PM with right periods along with lunch breaks. 

The education department has also instructed schools to follow the revised timings to ensure there is a uniformity across all institutions in the state. The notification mentioned that the emphasis has been given to morning assemblies and extra curricular activities in the overall development of the students. Schools have been advised to ensure smooth implementation of the revised schedule.

Bihar School Timings: Other Important Details

The notification issued includes guidelines for students, teachers and school authorities which are to be followed.

  • As per the notification, a schedule has been introduced for Saturday school activities which will be held throughout the day for students from classes 1 to 8 following the Bagless Safe Saturday approach.
  • Classes will continue until lunch break in the secondary and higher secondary classes after which activities including Bal Sabha (children's parliament/assembly), sports, creative workshops, and parent-teacher meetings will be held monthly, months with fifth saturday will have cultural programmes which will be conducted showcasing student-made materials and activities from the previous weeks. The same will be evaluated by teachers and be assessed as projects.
  • Teachers have also been asked to seat weaker students in the front rows. Boys and girls have also been asked to sit together in every classroom or section with no separate classes for both. 
  • Each teacher is expected to assign homework daily and review the same the next day.
