CLAT 2022-23 Exam Dates Announced, Know Exam Dates, Two Exam Format and Other Details Here

CLAT 2022-23 Exam Dates Announced: The Consortium of National Law Universities has announced the CLAT 2022 and CLAT 2023 Exam Dates for the law entrance exams that are scheduled to be held in coming days. The CLAT 2022 Exam dates were decided at the Annual Executive Committee and the General Body Meetings which were held at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad on 14^th November 2021- Sunday. The meetings were held under the Chairmanship of Prof. Faizan Mustafa.

Two CLAT Exams in 2022

According to the details shared by the Consortium, at the meeting it was decided that two CLAT Exams would be held in 2022. The Common Law Admission Test, which is the gateway to National Law Universities spread across the country, will be held for 2022 and 2023 sessions in the same year. In terms of dates, CLAT 2022 Exam would be held on 8^th May 2022 while CLAT 2023 Exam would be held on 18^th December 2022. This would be the first time that Two CLAT Exams for two different academic sessions or years are being held in the same year. ‘

CLAT 2022-23 Exam - Other Key Changes

In addition to announcing exam dates for CLAT 2022 and CLAT 2023 exams, the exam authority also notified some important key changes to the exam format which will make it more student friendly.

• CLAT Counselling Fees: An important change being introduced by the Consortium is to do with the reduction in the CLAT Counselling fees. From this year onwards, the CLAT Counselling fee has been reduced from â?¹ 50,000 to â?¹ 30,000 for the general category candidates and â?¹ 20,000 for ST, SC, OBC, BC, EWS, PWD and other reservation candidates.
• Sharing of Candidate’s Information: Another important change that has been introduced by the Consortium has to do with the sharing of candidate’s personal information with the universities or the institutes. To ensure complete privacy, the consortium will the consent of candidates prior to sharing any personal information with any University or any other third party.
• Election of CLAT Convenor: V.C. Vivekanandan, Vice-Chancellor, Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur was elected as CLAT Convenor for 2022 session.
• Election of Other Executives: The Consortium has also elected a new Executive Committee with Prof. Poonam Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, National Law University, Jodhpur taking over as President from the Outgoing President Prof. Faizan Mustafa. On similar lines, Prof. Vijender Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur was elected as the Vice-President.
