Delhi Schools Vaccination Drive: As per the latest update, with DDMA giving permission for reopening of schools for junior classes, the state government has directed schools in Delhi to get their teaching and non-teaching staff members vaccinated for COVID-19 latest by 15th October 2021. The order has been passed by the Directorate of Education, Delhi has issued new orders for vaccination of school staff keeping in mind the safety of other staff members as well as students.
Non-Vaccinated Staff Members not to be Allowed on Campus
Following the order, a majority of staff members in Delhi Schools will be vaccinated with at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The order also clearly states that all teachers and non-teaching staff who do not get themselves vaccinated by 15th October will not be allowed to enter the school campus. The official notice in this regards reads "Schools of Directorate of Education are directed to – ensure that all teachers & school staff who have not vaccinated should be vaccinated by 15th October, 2021. All such teachers & school staff who have not got themselves vaccinated by 15th October, 2021 should not be allowed to attend the school and their absence would be treated as on leave."
Following the release of the order, DoE has also directed school principals to reach out to their staff members, who are yet to receive COVID-19 vaccine and ensure that they have had the same before resumption of classes. Highlighting the gravity of the situation, the order treats this as an important step to keep everyone safe from the infection of COVID-19.
