The Delhi University has admitted 19,000 students till Monday i.e.  July 1, 2019, under the first cut off list released by it. As per the university officials, more than 4000 students had not paid the fees. And although the admissions under the first merit list were supposed to end on July 1, 2019, however, the University extended the admissions for students of the Andhra Pradesh state board till July 2, 2019.

Hindu College Principal, Anju Srivastava said that around 900 students had taken admission in the college over the course 3 days under the first admission list. She further added that 80 students, who have scored 100 percent from states such as Kerala, Telangana and Uttarakhand boards have taken admissions to the college. Courses such as Economics, Commerce, and Zoology will remain open for admissions. Chances are that the Hindu College might not release a second cut off for the Political Science (Hons) course as 40 seats under the unreserved category have been filled against 19 seats under the category.

According to the Ramjas College Principal, Manoj Sinha said that the around 800 seats of 1750 seats have already been filled. Courses such as Political Science (Hons) and several combinations of BA programme have already seen heavy admissions. Miranda House has crossed over 1100 mark in the terms of admission as per the college officials.

Other top colleges such as Kamala Nehru College said that the Political Science (hons), combinations of Political Science and other subjects under the B.A. program, psychology and English combinations have seen admissions in large numbers. B.Com programme also has seen more admissions than its honors counterpart. Many top colleges of the Delhi University might not see second cut-offs for popular courses such as Political Science (Hons), Geography (Hons) and some combinations of the B.A. programme.
