Delhi University is expected to begin the registration process for the 2020 Admissions from June 20, 2020, onwards. Reports suggest that the university has decided not to conduct the group discussions and interviews for the Postgraduate admissions for the 2020-21 academic year. Earlier, the Group discussion was granted a weightage of 15 percent in the grade total for the admissions.
As per reports, the standing committee member of the Delhi University - Arun Kumar Atri has stated that the admissions to the University Postgraduate Courses like MBA, M.Com and MA were conducted earlier based on the interview but for the admissions to the 2020 academic year due to the ongoing situation, the interview and Group Discussion has been removed.
The decision to scrap the interview and Group Discussion has been taken due to the need of maintaining social distancing and no matter how much the university tries it will not be able to conduct interviews with the number of applicants increasing this year. The university has emphasized that it is trying to conduct a contactless admission session in 2020-21.
According to earlier reports, the university will also not be conducting sports and ECA trials for the students keeping in mind the COVID-19 lockdown. The students will be given admissions based on certificate verification and achievements.
It has also been reported that candidates are not required to report every time to the university campus this year keeping in mind the situation. After the cutoff list is released, the candidates can apply online for the different colleges. The application process for Delhi University Admissions 2020 will also be conducted in the online mode only.
