Haryana School New Directive: Schools in Haryana are set to replace the traditional ‘Good Morning’ with ‘Jai hind’ from August 15, 2024, onwards. The decision has been taken with the motive to instil a deep sense of patriotism and national pride among students.
A circular was also issued regarding the same by the Directorate of School Education. The decision is aimed to inspire students every day with the spirit of national unity and respect the rich history of the country, the circular reads.
The circular was distributed to all district education officers, district elementary education officers, block education officers, principals and headmasters across the schools in the state.
The circular states that ‘Jai Hind’ was coined by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose during the freedom struggle and later was adopted by the armed forces as a salute after Independence. The circular further emphasises that the greeting will encourage students to appreciate the sacrifices made for the freedom of the country.
The circular also highlighted that ‘Jai hind’ transcends regional, linguistic and cultural differences promoting unity among students from different backgrounds. The regular use of the greeting will also inculcate a sense of discipline and uniformity among students. Incorporating the greeting into the gaily routine promotes cultural heritage and respect for national traditions, the circular points out.
The greeting is inspirational and motivational, reminding students of their potential to contribute towards the progress of the nation and serves as a source of inspiration for young Indians encouraging them to contribute positively towards the development of the country.
